"123,604. Priors Aerial Patents, Ltd., and Prior, E. G. March 5, 1918. Aerostats; framework.-A keel for air-ships or the like is constructed of a series of laminated frames of veneer, duralumin, &c. so arranged relatively to each other that the stresses throughout the keel will be resisted equally in all directions. Each frame b is made of quadrilateral form having two sides b1, b2 parallel but of unequal lengths, and the frames are alternately reversed as shown, with the inclined sides b<3>, b<4> in contact and the parallel sides b1, b2 adjacent the longerons a. The frame may be connected together and to the longerons by glueing or by a wrapping of veneers, metal, &c., with or without dowel pins &c. The longerons may be laminated and may be arranged with the grain running toward the centre of the keel."
