  • Abstract on google patents: "... [Cognate Application, 7508/10.] Planes, construction of. The spars of wings or planes for use in aeroplane machines are made tubular, and of square, rectangular, double concave, elliptical, or other non-circular shape in cross-section, so as to prevent rotation of the cross-ribs thereon, thus maintaining the ribs in a common plane, and means are provided for maintaining the ribs at their proper distances apart. A nosing for the front edge of the plane is also described. ..."

Template:Complex history -- in terms of filing, provisionals, splits, and so forth. Not fully conveyed below yet.

  • Tech class CPC B64C3/18: Spars; Ribs; Stringers
  • Inventor location: Painswick, Gloucestershire ; Lieutenant in Royal Navy
  • The reference to a "cognate application 7508/10" could be to a Patent GB-1910-7508 but that seems to be a ghost patent, one we don't have access to and which was probably never granted.
